But, of course, some might be a little unconvinced - after all, one might fear looking like they’d been draped in a layer of gold leaf. While it is true that gold fabric can be distracting and, under unfortunate situations, a little tacky if not styled right, there are subtler ways to wear the colour for a look that is chic and trendy.

Pair with austere hues - When combined with colours like olive green or khaki, gold shades can stand out beautifully. Earthy tones will work a treat with shimmering gold pieces.
