Spring 2016: 20 Ways to wear the apron neckline trend

Thought the look's just for homemakers? You're in for a treat as these designers reinvented the chic apron neckline trend.

Spring 2016: The apron neckline

There's no other way to put it - the apron neckline is essentially inspired by the cooking 'clothes-shields' worn by old Hollywood homemakers and secondary school students in Home Economics class. On the Spring 2016 runways, the trend was back in an array of prints, fabrics and colours to choose from, egging the fashion pack to welcome Summer back into their lives.

But it seems the style-obsessed staying among seasonal regions will have to wait until next June to immerse themselves in the trend. For us near the equator however, jumping into the flattering neckline immediately comes easily. The fashion detail is one that flatters every body type, showing off model-like collarbones and shoulders to anyone who wears it. Try it for yourself for weekends by the beach or a day going around town with the girlfriends - the sun will bounce off your shoulders for a youthful glow and you'll look as on-trend as you'll ever be.

Take a look as we've gathered runway looks to seek inspiration from in the gallery above, plus a collection of pieces to choose from, whether you choose to wear it in tops, sun dresses or chic overalls.
