K-Beauty: Our favourite South Korean makeup brands

Skincare aside, the Koreans are similarly leading in their range of makeup brands - both on innovation and quality. From Laneige to VDL, these are the ones we adore!

Laneige
If it isn't obvious enough, we'll say this again that Laneige is our ultimate favourite South Korean brand. They have been leading with skincare and makeup products for awhile now, so much so that we're always on the edge of our seats waiting for the next innovative launch.

Beyond their highly raved about cushion compacts, we're unabashedly fawning over the serum intense lipsticks- they're pigmented and yet exceptionally moisturising.

Treat this as a chance find on our part but we're glad to have stumbled upon 3CE which is a relatively bold and fun brand. Lauded for their eye and lip products, you'd be floored at just how pigmented the colours are, allowing you to revel in your makeup look all day long.

Currently we're obsessed with the saturated lip pigments that even features a white hue if you're looking to mix the shades together - art class all over again!

Clio Cosmetics
If we're talking about creative and innovative makeup products than Clio cosmetics is also a strong contender.

From the famed lipnicures to neon nailpolishes and pastel liners, this brand has repeatedly intrigued us with their new product offerings. It's only a matter of time before they release another lineup - keep your eyes open!

Too Cool For School
With its tongue in cheek descriptions and quirky packaging, it's safe to say that Too Cool For School is undoubtedly just as its name suggests, too cool.

Creativity aside, the brand is brimming with a chockfull of compelling yet remarkable product range. Some of their top sellers would be the cream to powder blush and Dino Platz mascara.

VDL
VDL prides itself for quality makeup products that features bold and refreshing colours. Be it their polishes, lipsticks or eyeshadows, you'd be sure to find a peculiar shade that nonetheless speaks out to you. For instance, we like the light lavender lipstick shade that would add a subtle tinge of colour to your Fall or Spring wardrobe.

With this brand, it's all about a moment of discovery and experimentation - afterall makeup is supposed to be a thrill ride rather than a job.

While the Koreans have meticulously perfected their skincare game to achieve radiant, dewy skin, their dexterity with makeup isn't lagging far behind either. Au contraire, their makeup offerings are only getting more superior as they days roll by - is there anything the Koreans can't do?

Anyway as they say, the trick to flawless makeup application is good skin. So since we've already covered our undeniably trusted skincare brands from Korea, we're moving forward to the next step - makeup!
