If you ask us, the most fun part of dressing up for the Chinese New Year is picking those unique accessories that not just complete our outfit with style – but also give us good luck.

Be it a whimsical everyday pendant, a traditional jade statement necklace or a modern bangle combing auspicious elements – there is certainly an accessories choice for every woman, every outfit and every occasion.

And as this year is the Year of the Wood Horse, we have compiled a suitable list which comprises of eye wear, jewellery, and precious stones, all of which are the perfect ingredients to turn you into a fashionable dark horse when you show up during reunion dinners.

Our new mantra this year: The bigger, the better, and the darker the red, the more alluring!

Think loud, bold statement pieces when accessorizing because size does matter. Don’t be afraid to opt for bigger frames as a finishing touch like a cherry on top of a CNY outfit to attain a chic look that gives off an exquisite feminine flair and to emphasize your personality.

Put aside vibrant reds and keep these two colours on your palette – bordeaux and burgundy. These deep rouge shades will radiate sophistication and class.

Bask in the festivity of the Year of the Horse in the most whimsical way ever with a gold-plated origami horse pendant, or Gold Heart‘s adorable rocking-horse motifs for the inner child in every woman. Alternatively, you could always take the traditional path and opt for timeless jade pieces that will stimulate creativity, mental agility, wisdom, love and tolerance; perfect to kick-start a new Lunar Year! Word of advice, keep a look out for Arizma‘s Lavender jade. It is a little more unusual yet said to be as lucky as green jade.

No time to waste horsing around anymore! It’s time to stock up on these gorgeous pieces.
