The killer question: How to fix a broken nail without cutting it?

You've been waiting for ages to grow your nails when suddenly, disaster strikes and a small tear on the surface destroys all your dreams. Before you cut it short and start complaining, take a deep breath because that is not the only solution. Here's what you will need: a thin piece of toilet paper (feel free to remove a few layers if you have fancy four-ply toilet paper), a buffing stick, a cotton bud, some nail glue (it usually comes with a pack of fake nails) and a topcoat.
Buff your nail gently, focus on the tear to remove as many defects from the surface as possible. Apply a drop of nail glue, preferably with a brush as it’s easier. Put the tiny piece of toilet paper smoothly on top of the tear - if needed use a cotton bud to place it correctly. Wait for your “home-fix bandage” to dry and then apply a layer of top coat.
Voila, your nails are now as good as well. There was no need to shed tears now was there?
