Fashion Tech: Meet the talking mannequins!
mis à jour le 4 May 2019 à 07:53The fashion world is welcoming a new innovative system called VMBeacon that is going to revolutionize the way we shop...

Dummies and mannequins will not only enable us to visualize clothing, but also to get information about the outfits on display through our Smartphones.
Launched by London-based technology company Iconeme, VMBeacon is a device positioned in each mannequin that enables them to send the shoppers an automatic information alert about the clothes or accessories they're displaying. So, provided you have downloaded the app on your Smarthphone and you are within a 100m range of the dummies, you will get many details about the products. These extra details range from descriptions of the products and their prices to photos and links to purchase them online or their location in the physical store - so useful for those of us who are always in a rush.
Our favourite part of this whole set-up? The fact it also allows us to save the trendy looks that we like for later, share them with friends and get additional offers.
That's not all! Dummies work 24 hours a day, so let's say you see a beautiful dress in the window of your favourite shop, which unfortunately, has just closed and you would like to know more about it and right now. Thanks to your app, you can immediately get more details about price, colour or whatever it is you need to know concerning your dress-to-be (or not to-be).
Combining the advantages of online shopping with those of in-store shopping, this technology is not only useful for consumers, but also for retailers that can promote their products at any time and collect crucial information such as, the clothes viewed, the location, and the age and gender of the passer-by, among others.
Those smart dummies are available in the following stores: House of Fraser’s in Aberdeen, Hawes & Curtis in London; and Bentalls in Kingston upon Thames.
We can't wait to see them soon in a shop near us!
