Life in Numbers: 20 random facts that will surprise you
mis à jour le 4 May 2019 à 07:10There is enough carbon in our body to make 900 lead pencils, and enough phosphor to produce 2200 match heads! Here is our selection of some unusual statistics we bet you didn't know.

Did you know that in China, 45 billion pairs of chopsticks are used every year? That there is a road in Brazil on which 160 cars can run side by side? Or better still that 50% of the world’s population has never made or received a telephone call? These are unusual, sometimes funny and always surprising figures - to such a point that some data seem completely absurd. For example, our wheeled chair in the office travel 12km every year, and 98% of men if left alone with teapot covers, they put them on their heads (unfortunately we have not been able to verify this fact). The statistics mentioned in this article are based on the words of Mitchell Symons, author of the book NUMBERLAND. And in spite of our doubts, we feast on them with pleasure and amusement.
