REDValentino FW13: A Walk in the Woods

Although summer has only just started, we’re already looking forward to the winter.
The reason is, we’ve just had a sneak peek of REDValentino’s FW13 collection and we cannot wait to get our hands on some of those gorgeous pieces.
Entitled ‘A walk in the Woods’, the collection echoes a sense of a fairytale – less Cinderella and more Hensel and Gretel – which luckily for us translates well into everyday wearable clothes.
From undersized sweaters to bows, flared skirts and capes; the overall look is whimsical yet dressy. This is European ‘country chic’ at its best thanks to the elaborate embroidery on dresses and skirts which got us daydreaming.
The silhouettes vary from shorts and cape combo to flared frocks and more ladylike ankle-length dresses all of which look very feminine yet with structure and weight due to the use of fabrics such as velvet, loden and, angora wool.
We love romantic looks and this collection nails it with a distinctive sophistication which is synonymous with REDValentino (in case you didn't know, RED stands for Romantic Eccentric Dress). Down to the accessories and smallest details from giant flowers on cute pumps and landscape embroidery on those little bags – we are totally sold on this modern fairytale look.
And to prove it, we will happily trade our grungy leather jackets and those urban skinny jeans for something more ladylike next winter.
REDValentino AW13 collection will be available in stores in August.
