Eclectic, feminine fashion at its best - here's why we love the work of this up-and-coming Singaporean designer.

Saloni Rathor SS14: A Life Less Ordinary

From original prints, to beautiful usage of colour, flattering cuts and luxe materials… it’s hard not to love the work of up-and-coming Singaporean designer Saloni Shrestha of Saloni Rathor label.

With 4 very different collections so far, her style could be best described as feminine and eclectic, offering a fresh perspective on fashion, a world’s apart from the monochrome androgynous aesthetics most common among young designers these days.

Saloni who has embarked on her fashion journey as part of Parco next NEXT incubator program has definitely come a long way showing her versatility as a designer and earning a spot in MF Asia’s top young Asian designers’ list.

Why we love the label: Simply because it offers wearable and unique fashion for women who want to look feminine but with a fresh twist. We love the latest SS14 collection ‘A Life Less Ordinary’ which offers us a short rejuvenating escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life, by incorporating beautiful take-on floral-inspired hand-painted with pops of bright summery shades, suitable for everyday wear as well as some elegantly-cut dresses fit for a stylish occasion.

Based on her comparatively edgier and bolder AW13 collection ‘The Passage’, we would also say that the designer’s forte lies in knowing how to mix and match fabrics, patterns and prints to create something original - always surprising and never boring.

Yes, it is definitely not for the faint-hearted but for those fashionistas who appreciate great detail, superb quality and original design and of course, are not afraid to stand out from the crowd.

Where to find it: Saloni Rathor is available at various online and offline stockists around Asia.
