Simplify your repeats
Repeats - we all have them. Countless black basic tops? Why keep many backups if you are going to keep reaching for the one you love? Limit your repeats to a maximum of 3-4 pieces. This helps to lessen the clutter and you'll find yourself having a neater closet.

Use a hanger system
A hanger system is a great way to resolve those clutter woes. Use it to identify which are the clothes you wear the most. Hang the clothes with the hook facing in your direction. Once you have worn the item, put it back in the opposite direction. At the end of 2 months, observe which are the clothing items with hooks still facing in your direction - it is probably time to toss those away.

If you're an avid shoe collector, this decluttering tip will help with that mountain of a mess. Create more space by storing shoes with the right and left soles facing the opposite direction.
