Waffle Dreams: Best places to have waffles in Singapore

There has been a slew of waffle hipster cafes sprouting like mushrooms all over Singapore and we've been disappointed by quite a few places.
The perfect waffle is not hard to attain, all you need is a crisp exterior with a pillowy interior, the right ratio egg to batter, the correct timing...ok, so it is not that easy. Thus, we aren't surprised that some cafes do a good job of bungling the waffle. Like one very famous cafe in Toa Payoh known for their Isapahan waffles - our verdict: Don't bother. The waffle comes out flat and soggy. Plus it takes 40 minutes to arrive at your table.
However, we've found a couple of needles in this haystack of waffles that have lived up to their Instagram pictures and hype.
