We're officially into the swing of things with New York Fashion Week. Granted, it's been a somewhat momentous week for the fashion world, with models (finally!) getting private changing rooms for the first time in fashion week history.

This welcome news is not the only thing making a statement on the runway, however. A mere glance at any of the season's designs will have you notice that statement bags are making it big on the runway.

Tom Ford's 80s-inspired chain bag, for one, boldly references the power of the female anatomy, whilst Jeremy Scott delighted us with his parade of furry backpacks in bright, psychedelic colours.
