First Look: Jeremy Scott releases documentary trailer

With all his celebrity friends in tow – Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Rita Ora – Jeremy Scott’s documentary is set to be quite an insightful look into his life.

Mention Jeremy Scott and anyone in the know will talk about his irreverent clothes that mock consumer culture or celebrate quirkiness in all its glory, coachella parties and those winged sneakers. Who can forget those winged sneakers?

However, not many will be privy to the fact that the young designer didn’t quite have an illustrious life to begin with. In the upcoming documentary Jeremy Scott: The People’s Designer’, you’ll get to know the man on a far more personal level – from visiting his childhood home in rural Missouri to sleeping in the Metro in Paris and eventually becoming creative director of Italian label, Moschino.

“As a kid, on a farm, in a small town, looking at magazines and seeing high fashion and wanting to be a part of it so badly, I didn’t realize the runways were fake and that TV wasn’t real,” says Scott in the trailer. All of which makes it evident that behind the supposed glitz and celebrity friends who are the likes of Rita Ora, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry, Scott has a deeper story to tell.

Created by the producers of Valentino: The Last Emperor, you can be certain that this documentary on Scott is bound to take you on one impressive ride. So even if you’re not a huge fan of his somewhat questionable design, you have to see what goes on in his creative brain to conjure up such brilliant messages behind his pieces. You have to admit, the concept is almost always spot on.

Jeremy Scott: The People’s Designer will be out on September 18.
