You can wear different shades of blue together and still look chic - here’s how.

Blue shoes + blue jumpsuit
Bright yet understated enough to not seem OTT, this blue jumpsuit and blue pumps combo catches the eye at first glance, but because of the ensemble's minimalist overall appearance, the look still works like a charm.

Bright and light
We love the bright shades here - a powder blue jumper and a turquoise blue skirt, paired with a pair of white platform sneakers. The mix of light hues gives off a youthful vibe and a very casual daytime look that catches the eye.

Denim crazy
There's nothing wrong with going all-out denim. We're totally digging this look - a denim jacket layered with a pair of denim jeans, coupled with shoes that feature denim (and various shades at that). The bright orange stripe down the side of the jeans cuts through the overly blue look and breaks up the canvas a bit.

When in doubt, a distinctly blue bag in a single solid shade can go with just about any blue ensemble. For example, blue prints on a cardigan.

Here's a good example of a dark blue top paired with a light blue bottom. Accompanying accessories look best in neutral shades.

Is your favourite colour blue? If you own several items of clothing in this colour, but they’re all varying shades (baby blue, navy blue, denim blue, washed-out blue, blue-black), you might have thought to yourself “no way will any of these look good together”. Well, it’s quite possible to match shades of blue, you just have to keep in mind a few things.

Keep it simple: You can pair a lighter shade of blue with a darker shade of blue if you keep things simple. Don’t create optical illusions with sophisticated prints - stick with block colours. A pair of dark denim jeans can look very good with a light blue blouse. Similarly, a pair of washed-out denim jeans can look good with a dark blue blouse.
Play around with different fabrics: Making sure that each of the pieces have different textures will create more of a distinction between the two shades. For example, pairing a denim skirt with a pastel blue silk blouse.
Accessorise: It’s fairly easy to tote around a blue bag or strut around in a pair of blue heels when your outfit is also blue - but if blue is not an option, or if you want to tone the ensemble down a bit, stick to neutral accessories. Accessories in nudes and blacks and whites can highlight your outfit.
