The killer question: How to (really) keep your foundation on all day long?
We asked our Facebook fans what they want to know - And, with the help of a YSL makeup artist, we answer your questions!
One of the questions we recently asked our readers on facebook was: What question would you ask a makeup pro?
Celine has left this message "How to keep your foundation on all day?"
We answer her questions with the help of Emilio Benedetti, Make up Artist at Yves Saint Laurent, Paris:
1- Moisturise your skin very well - otherwise the skin will "drink" the foundation, powder or other BB cream once you apply it.
MFA tip: Moisturise as you do normally, and just before applying your foundation reapply a small touch of moisturizer. You will see the difference.
2- Use a dense makeup brush to even out the product and extend the holding power of foundation onto the skin.
3- Secure with a touch of loose powder to trap the foundation molecules.
Extra Questions?
At what point should I touch up my skin? Just after lunch. Digestion leads to greater sebum production... and thus blurs the complexion. A little touch of pressed powder will set the tone for the rest of the day.
And if it's hot should I change anything in my foundation routine? Apply a little more powder than usual. Use a mist water too. Leave it to dry in the open air without touching.
