Add a radiant glow to a dull, over-powdered face with our favourite makeup product - the holy grail highlighter.

Our humid climate might be the last place you'd think of to pile on the shine, but after layering loose or compact powder to set your makeup, your face could end up looking flat. Adding some sheen to your skin will give you a radiant glow and a healthy, wide-awake appearance.

Highlighting is the one step that at first might seems unnecessary but adds a big impact when applied correctly. Being minimal is key, so apply sparingly. Knowing where to place the product according to your face shape can also help to bring attention to your favourite features. Here are a few tips:

  • If you have a high forehead, avoid applying it to the area so you won't bring attention to it.
  • Lift droopy eyelids by using a small blending brush to dust the powder onto the brow bone.
  • Create the illusion of a slimmer, lifted nose by concentrating highlighter on the bridge of the nose and very tip.
  • Bring a healthy glow to the cheeks with a light brushing on the tops of cheekbones, taking it up to slightly below the temples.
  • Fake a sexy full pout with highlighter right at your cupid's bow.

If you're vexed on what highlighter to add to your makeup bag, look through the above gallery for our favourite high-shine products.
