Liquid-repelling T-shirt: The Cavalier by Treadsmiths
Being soaked in the rain, and spilling drinks in a restaurant, at work or at home are pretty common occurrences in daily life. How useful waterproof clothes could be in such situations!
Being soaked in the rain, and spilling drinks in a restaurant, at work or at home is a pretty common occurrence in daily life. Thus, how useful waterproof clothes could be in such situations?
Such options are not mere fantasy, since a Melbourne label has invented a t-shirt that is resistant to water and stains. Needless to say, technology was an integral part of the creation.
Our “life saver”, Treadsmiths, a clothing and technology Australian label, patented this waterproof white t-shirt named “The Cavalier”, which is made from 100% cotton and is chemical-free (the shirt does not contain any aerosol applications).
How does it work?
The white t-shirt features a new “water-fearing” nanotechnology woven into the cotton fabric that minimises the surface area to which liquids and stains adhere, causing it to bead up and roll off the fabric; creating a natural self-cleaning.
The Cavalier t-Shirt is fully machine and hand washable. We have not tested it personally, but according to the brand, its waterproof effect will last up to 80 machine washes, if you tumble dry it at normal to low heat every few washes.
For now, the brand only provides t-shirts for men, women, kids and babies, but as Mr Pitchford said, “…we’re open to suggestions about what else to make”.
Smart fabrics never fail to impress us!
