What: Singapore Pub Crawl presents: National Day Pub Crawl

When: Saturday, 9th August; 6:30pm onwards

Where:Fat Pigeon Statue beside UOB Plaza,80 Raffles Place
Why: For an opportunity to celebrate what makes Singapore truly Singapore (if you didn't already know we're referring to its multiculturalism), get a ticket to this not-to-be-missed, fun, beer-filled event. You'll meet new people from all over the world and bond in the best way possible - by celebrating the Lion City!

What: Our Folksongs, Our Tunes

When: Sunday August 10; 3pm

Where: Esplanade Concert Hall - Theatres on The Bay

Why: The Orchestra Collective will be paying homage to Singapore by performing a medley of Singaporean classics such as Rasa Sayang, Singapura, Sunny Island and Finale (The Republic).

What: Blu Jaz presents: The Fever (Hip Hop Night)

When: Saturday, 9th August; 9:30pm till late

Where: Blu Jaz Cafe, 11 Bali Lane

Why: For some groovin' Hip Hop beats, both old skool and new, featuring DJs from the UK and Australia, come bounce your booty at Blu Jaz this National Day

What: Steve-O Guilty As Charged Tour

Where: University Cultural Centre, NUS, 50 Kent Ridge Crescent

Why: Jack-Ass famous crazy funnyman Steve-O is in town for only one night for some of his whacky standup comedy. How can you possibly have an excuse to miss a night of wild laughter?

What: ‘Seeking/Looking: A Sex Library’

When: 7 August - 30 August 2014; Gallery Hours:
Wed - Fri : 1pm - 7pm
Sat: 1pm - 7pm

Where: Grey Projects, 6B Kim Tian Road, Tiong Bahru

Why: ‘Seeking/Looking: A Sex Library’ is an exhibition-as-library, that lets you explore your sexually curious side and is an open invitation for readers to contribute volumes of their favorite queer literature to this pop-up library. The library cheekily suggests that even in our private reading spaces, one can be looking for sex and sexual gratification. For a brief moment, readers at the exhibition will be able to seek out these otherwise undisclosed sexual narratives.

Snow City – Subsidised National Day Rates
What: Celebrate National Day at Snow City

Where: Snow City, 21 Jurong Town Hall Road

Why: Beat the heat at $49 for a party of four and enjoy either a two-hour snow play session at Snow City or an one-hour sport climbing taster session at The Cliff.

Why: Various stalls, performances, events and Singapore-themed activities, *Scape is offering a whole lot for Singapore's special day.

Why: Come belt your heart out to familiar tunes Singaporean tunes performed by The Singapore Char Siew Baos!

It’s National Day weekend! Expect several fun-filled and uniquely Singaporean events as we celebrate all the achievements of this small island city over the past 49 years. It might be young but Singapore has certainly grown into a country to contend with and we are utterly proud to be able to be a part of its success. Here’s to many more years of prosperity! Majulah Singapura!
