There are numerous times where we have sat and witnessed runways that sent down artistic and out-of-this-world designs. Don't get us wrong, they were definitely jaw-dropping and dripping with sheer adroitness but alas, we'll resign our fate to hardly being able to pull off a similar look in our everyday wardrobe.
However, after watching the trend-focused runways, we can still find solace in Singapore-based label, In Good Company, to deliver an effortless pairing of clean aesthetics and crisp tailoring - translating to easy-to-wear designs with a dose of sartorial flair.
Designed by Sven Tan and Kane Tan, Capsule 5 sees a medley of boxy silhouettes by way of blocky jackets, shirts with wider cuts, shortened pant lengths, kimono-esque sleeves and square-cut peplums. To many, the designs may appear seemingly simple but the devil here is truly in the details - from epaulets to criss-cross straps and godet inserts - it's these little additions that make the pieces a remarkable standout.
Clearly, there's no need to stop just yet as the label takes their designs to the next level by introducing two-in-one styles. For example, a streamline version of a best-selling outer jacket is paired with an asymmetrical top to result in one hybrid whole, so that it looks like two In Good Company layered looks - essentially getting rid of the perennial “how to style” conundrum. Another one of these multiple-wearing styles include a top that could be worn front-to-back or back-to-front.
Amidst their traditional palette of neutral tones - from white, black, light browns and grey - this current collection features a refreshing injection of colours ranging from lemon-yellow to periwinkle blue and forest green.
Ultimately, proven as the anti-thesis to anything trendy, In Good Company serves up delicious offerings of wardrobe essentials for those days when you're just too flustered to style.
