Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton reminded us of Disney Princess, Belle and rightly so. Alicia is looking no less than a princess in this gorgeous layered piece. We love how she decided to experiment with a shade of cream yellow on the red carpet.

Best Dressed: Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka Chopra in Zuhair Murad made us turn our heads and admire the Quantico star. The Zuhair Murad piece looked flattering against her beautiful skin tone and can we just talk about the gorgeous sheer fabric with floral work?

Best Dressed: Brie Larson
From the ruffles to the neckline, Brie Larson in Gucci has got us screaming for more. The fabric was flowy to begin with but the dazzling centre piece tied the whole look together.

Best Dressed: Louise Roe
Louise Roe in Christian Siriano reminded us about how simple can be great. This beautiful peache and cream creation looked lovely against Louise's figure. The pleated detaling could not have been a better addition.

Best Dressed: Mindy Kaling
Mindy Kaling walked the red carpet in a piece by Elizabeth Kennedy. This black number was no basic piece as it was accompanied by a gorgeous blue train. Good going Mindy!

Best Dressed: Naomi Watts
Naomi Watts in Armani Prive was another strong candidate for our best dressed award. She was part of the girl gang strutting their best in shades of blue. We love how the duo chrome nature of this dress shines bright on the red carpet.

Best Dressed: Saoirse Ronan
A plunging neckline could go wrong in many ways but not in this case. Saoirse Ronan in Calvin Klein made us love this emerald green shade even more. The piece sits beautifully on her and accentuated her curves in the right way.

Best Dressed: Sofia Vergara
This was a dress made for our next best dressed winner. Sofia Vergara in a beautiful midnight blue Marchesa showed us that the bustier or princess cut belongs to Sofia. Everything from the shade and fabric to the fit was perfect.

Best Dressed: Sophia Turner
Sophia Turner in Galvan X was a unique choice. It was free of the glitter and gems but still made a statment on the red carpet with its cut and sleek fabric choice.

Best Dressed: Olivia Wilde
Olivia Wilde looked like red carpet royalty in this exclusive design by Valentino. We loved the play of space and fabric. This haute couture gown with a low-cut neckline not only photographed well but was beautiful in motion.

Worst Dressed: Heidi Klum
Heidi Klum in Valentino makes it to our worst dressed list once again. This lilac choice was not flattering on Heidi and was a miss.

Worst Dressed:Whoopi Goldberg
We love Whoopi Goldberg but this was an absolute nightmate on the red carpet. She looked uncomfortable even while walking down the red carpet. Given Whoopi's style, we would have loved for her to experiment with a pant-suit in this shade.

Cate Blanchett disappointed with her aqua marine number. The tiny "blobs" made the situation worse. We have seen her do much better.

Sandy Powell, we will need a word with your stylist. The loud prints and box-like fit did you no justice on a beautiful red carpet.

Worst dressed: Keltie Knight
We love Keltie Knight but we are not loving this origami inspired red dress. The shade looked gorgeous on her but just not the excessive layering and pleats.

Worst Dressed: Robin Roberts
Robin Roberts may be in her 50s but she has always had amazing style. While we love the shade of the dress, we are not a fan of the gritty material and choker collar.

Worst Dressed: Daisy Ridley
It was just a case of bad luck for Daisy Ridley. The Star Wars star had everything going for her except when her designer decided to include sheer ruffles on an already gorgeous dress.

Diane Warren
In short, Diane Warren's outfit was not Oscar-worthy especially since the artist is nominated alongside Lady Gaga. From the fit to the outfit choice, everything is a big miss.

Worst Dressed: Jennifer Garner
Jennifer Garner has always impressed us with her basic but elegant gown choices. We wish we could have said the same today. Perhaps the off shoulder style needed some improvement in the case of this dress.

Worst Dressed: Maria Menounos
Maria Menounos disappointed in this silver piece. Not only was it looking overdone, the detailing on the dress made it look messy. A bustier cut might have saved the situation.

Award season may have kicked off a month back but we are always anticipating what the next big red carpet is going to bring. We’ve kept our hopes up in anticipation of the amazing fashion and beauty looks to be seen during the 88^th Academy Awards. The excitement of seeing all the amazing dresses on the red carpet finally came to an end this morning as we saw the who’s who of Hollywood strut their style down the coveted red carpet. Let’s just say the ladies up-ed their game at this year’s Oscars.

From the good to bad to ugly, we saw it all. Take Alicia Vikander who is nominated for her performance in “The Danish Girl” for example. She made it to our list of best dressed celebrities during this year’s Golden Globes and did not disappoint this time around as well. Her Louis Vuitton piece was stunning and she made the yellow shade look so good.

This year we were glad to see colour dominating the red carpet. Many did not stick to the conventional hues of black and embraced colours such as yellows, green and the most popular of them all, shades of blue. However they were some who failed to impress such as Regina King who blinded us with a failed replica of a Superwoman’s costume.
