Dreamy Duo: Get on trend with Pantone’s new colour of the year 2016
It’s twins! Pantone has released the 2016 colour of the year and it is not one but two exciting new shades, which we can’t stop staring at.
Every year, Pantone announces its colour of the year which helps to set the trends for the new year. As we bid farewell to the reigning crown winner, Marsala of 2015 we are excited to welcome not one but two winners this year – Rose Quartz and Serenity. This icy pink and periwinkle blue combination is a refreshing break from the previous winners which have been on the warmer side.
According to Pantone, the pairing of Rose Quartz and Serenity brings calm and relaxation. We certainly agree! Though the shades lean towards the cooler side, they can easily be paired with other mid tone colours. When creating an eye makeup look, adding shades such as rich browns or even greens can help to create depth. For a different alternative add bright pinks or even silvers for a splash of fun.
