Bling with a message: Amado Gudek’s ‘Diemonds Fauxever’ collection
updated the 4 May 2019 à 09:10Forget blood diamonds and indulge in these resin pieces which will shine twice as much – and send a strong statement at the same time.
Why we love it:
‘Diamonds are a girl’s best friend’. Marylin Monroe’s words have definitely resonated with many women since they were uttered back in glamorous 40’s – And who could really blame them when the shiny rock has become not just a beautiful thing to don, but also a strong status statement in modern society.
But not everyone agrees, especially when for decades the mining and production of diamonds have been linked to wars and poverty especially in Africa – and the term ‘blood diamonds’ was born as a result.
For those of us who strongly believe in the controversial nature of these icies and prefer to steer clear, Singapore-based accessories label Amado Gudek is offering an interesting alternative which carries a strong message in its own right – while making a fashionable statement as well.
The label’s latest Fall/Winter 2014 collection entitled ‘Diemonds Fauxever’ caters for the experimental activist-a inside us, featuring structural 3D printed diamond rings moulded in a resin cast as if they were frozen in an ice block.
The brand’s interesting tongue-in-cheek approach is carried throughout the collection with play on the pieces’ names such as “Global mining” and “Caged diamond” and are nonetheless beautiful to look at.
Hand-crafted in Singapore using environmentally friendly bioresin and 3D printed stainless steel – this is one collection we’re not missing out on for sure!
