Experimenting with bright colours can really take your chic factor up a notch!

We're loving this bright red wool felt poncho that has been daringly paired with some above-knee reflective crimson vinyl boots. The whole thing screams OTT sultriness, but there's nothing better than a head-turning outfit.

Seeing purple
This purple-and-black mix stands out as a winner in our eyes. Those shoes and sunglasses complement the black lapels featured on the vibrant jacket. Who said there wasn't such a thing as dark accents in an outfit?

At the risk of resembling a tree frog, if you manage to pull off the all-green look, you'll be the talk of the town. Accessories make an outfit go a long way - we love the green leather clutch here.

When everything comes together in one colour-coordinated mashup, the colour you pick is probably your favourite and you're more than likely to have a whole army of wardrobe items of the same shade lying around. Not saying it's a bad thing - it makes outfits so much easier to match.

Making a statement with what you wear is not all that difficult. By matching colours of similar shades, be it pairing a red clutch with a hot scarlet dress or pairing your pink skirt with your stylish pink sneakers, you can create ensembles that turn heads and capture attention. Yes, one of the general rules of fashion is to coordinate the colours in your outfits. If done with finesse, you can make your outfit pieces really stand out.

Don't forget that even your shoes and accessories play a huge part in making or breaking a colour-coordinated outfit.
