Considering this is Gordon Ramsay’s flagship restaurant in Singapore (modelled after its London counterpart), rest assured that you’ll be getting a rendition of the fish and chips as quintessentially British as they come. Served authentically with the traditional crushed peas and tartar sauce, the fish certainly scores top marks in our books - although the generous slabs of chips on the side certainly doesn’t hurt either.

And of course, we had to include the fish and chips at halal-certified I Am Cafe in this list for our fellow Muslims to also get in on the greasy comfort food action! Its version of this classic comfort food dish comes served in a mouthwatering golden brown batter and chips (though not as thick-cut as the authentic ones) that will no doubt delight patrons.

Muddy Murphy's is one of the oldest and most popular Irish pubs in Singapore. Staying true to its Irish roots, you'll find that its menu includes traditional hearty pub grub like a Beef and Guinness Pie, Irish Stew, Sunday Roast and of course, Fish and Chips. The Muddy's Irish Styled Fish N' Chips features a fillet of Atlantic Cod cooked in a delicious light and crispy ale batter, served with straight-cut fries and a side of classically British/Irish mushy peas and tartar sauce.

Mr. Fish & Chips @ Cafe Wok Inn
At just SGD9.90, the fish and chips here might be wallet-friendly, but certainly does not compromise on its flavour and authenticity. The restaurant was once a former hawker stall along Toa Payoh Lorong 7, before it moved to its present location. Its Battered Fish and Chips comes served with thick-cut slabs of fries and coleslaw, and definitely makes for a hearty meal.
