If you've been following our deluge of beauty articles on the Cannes Film Festival, you may have already seen the "side swept hair" trend sweeping the red carpet. First spotted on French actress Virginie Ledoyen, the look involves gathering your made onto one side (a bit like a fake half hawk). Virginie is not the only one with this native American inspired hairstyle. Nikki Reed, Emma Stone, Natasha Poly and a whole lot of other celebrities have succumbed to this trend.
HOW TO GET THE LOOK?
The side hair look seems to be popular perhaps because girls with long hair or short hair are able to carry it off. You can flatten one side with gel for a more sleek, sophisticated effect or turn it into a braid. Another alternative would be to braid your hair and then let it loose. The soft natural waves from the braids will add a touch of Old Hollywood glamour to your hairstyle.
