The Picturehouse
Feel like catching an arty-farty movie tonight? Check out the selection at The Picturehouse in The Cathay. This cinema was one of the first indie film houses screening movies like Pulp Fiction and La Femme Nikita way back in the 90s. Now it screens indie films from all over the world.

Alliance Francaise Singapour
Being a francophone has its perks indeed. For certain movie events like Rendezvous with French Cinema at Alliance Francaise, the association brings in the actual stars like Juliette Binoche, Catherine Deneuve and Sophie Marceau.

The Projector

There is a cinematheque at the basement of The National Museum which screens Singaporean films and frequently has dialogues with directors, writers and more. Check the programme list to avoid disappointment.

Ah, Bollywood movies anyone? Dedicated to the best of Indian cinema, it screens movies in various languages like Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. It caters to the crowd from the nearby Little India, but who says you can't go too! Can you say 'Dhoom Machale!'

Movies are a great way to past the time, but we do get tired of the slew of blockbusters filled with noisy people and loud chewers.
