True to her history of surprising audiences in kooky get-ups, Lady Gaga wore tomato-red gloves with her white Azzedine Alaia dress. The disconcerting ensemble prompted spores of photoshopped pictures of her holding a washing detergent, wearing a red apron, as well as standing against a background of dirty dishes in a kitchen. What was with the gloves Gaga?

2. Klutzy Lopez
The social media world was abuzz with praise on Jennifer Lopez’s beautiful Ellie Saab dress, even though she did almost trip over its layered fabric while commencing to present an award on stage.

3. John's weird antics
Scarlett Johansson was totally caught off-guard as John Travolta crept up and planted a kiss on her because he “couldn’t resist”. The Lost In Translation actress looked stunning in her emerald gown and matching statement necklace so we get why he couldn't resist a little peck.

4. Right back at’cha
This widely-circulated screenshot poked fun at John Travolta giving a sideway squint at Benedict Cumberbatch while referencing Travolta’s mispronunciation of Idina Menzel's name as Adele Dazeem at last year’s Oscars. Menzel also got back at Travolta by introducing him as "Glom Gazingo".

Honestly, how can it not be awesome when Tegan and Sara and the Lonely Island performed the Lego Movie’s theme song - complete with the left shark from Katy Perry's 2015 Super Bowl performance.

For those who didn’t manage to win the Oscars this year, they were able to make do with the Lego versions of the trophies. We still love you, Emma!

Celebrities like Patricia Arquette and Reese Witherspoon are calling for journalists to ask the more important questions rather than the usual "who you're wearing". Because if anything, the stars on the red carpet for their incredble acting performances not for ace styling.

Social media users (and probably the audience at Hollywood) were surprised by Neil Patrick Harris’ ‘naked’ appearance. Neil pulled out the big guns (so to speak) and gave a nod to Best Picture nominee 'Birdman' and Best Actor nominee, Michael Keaton.
