Heading away on a vacation or business trip? Lucky you!

For some women, flying is a complete and utter nightmare - but for others, it's a walk in the park (yes, we're talking about you Kim Kardashian). From short to long haul flights - the whole process can be extremely stressful on our skin. Causing unwanted impurities such as dryness and acne. But with the right beauty routine, and a few sneaky tips and tricks - flying can be enjoyable and relaxing.

Makeup:

We are all aware that flying with a full face of makeup on is terrible for our skin - but for some women, arriving to the airport with a bare-face is a complete no-no. Swap your usual foundation for a BB or CC cream, this will give you a little bit of comfort - and hey, you're moisturising your skin at the same time too.

If you're going on a long haul flight, consider applying your makeup just for the airport and taking it off when on the plane. Although tedious, it's a great way to save your skin from the many stresses of flying.

Skin:

Once on the plane, use a cleanser or wipe to remove excess oils and makeup.

Planes really dehydrate our skin, so protect it by applying a face mask for the duration of the flight. No, we aren't talking about coloured masks that will have everyone starring at you (although, if you're daring enough then go right ahead). Use a clear mask that sinks into the skin so know one will even know. To keep your skin extra-hydrated throughout the whole flight, spritz some facial mist onto your skin from time to time. Take it off at the end of the flight, then go in with your usual moisturising routine - for extra hydration, consider using a facial oil. Then reapply your makeup (if you want).

Diminish those sad puffy eyes by using an eye cream - put it on when you apply your mask. Then reapply towards the end of the flight.

Hair:

Hair doesn't look its best after hours and hours of flying. To tame your strands, apply a nourishing hair oil a couple of times throughout the flight (not too much, otherwise your tresses will look just plain oily). If you find that your hair falls flat, add a touch of dry shampoo towards landing.

Our tip: Put your hair into a braid, this will ensure your locks stay in place.

Clothes:

Sitting in the same clothes for hours on end isn't a good look, so pack a pair of comfy clothes to wear on the flight. Tights and a T-shirt will do the trick. If you aren't comfortable with doing that, bring along another set of clothes to change into before landing.

Reminder: There are certain restrictions on the amounts of creams and liquids you are allowed to bring onto a plane. Decant the products into smaller containers and put them into a see through bag.

Safe travels!
