Spring Scents: Penhaligon’s to launch new Ostara fragrance

Herald in new beginnings and happy thoughts with the British perfumery’s latest fragrance, Ostara – inspired by daffodils of course.

Ostara

Fragrances have the power to not only make you smell good but put you on an imaginative escapade, taking you through the possible scenes the fragrance could be found in. With that in mind, the legendary perfumery, Penhaligon’s introduced their latest fragrance, Ostara, crafted by the venerable perfumer, Bertrand Duchaufour. The vibrant, uplifting scent was inspired by the radiant yellow daffodils, often found in rolling fields in the countrysides of Europe.

Synonymous with optimism and the revival of spring, Ostara essentially becomes the ideal fragrance to wear when the sun comes out from behind the clouds – which is everyday in Singapore. Packaged in a similarly bright yellow bottle, the label features lines from poet, William Wordsworth’s famous 1807 poem, ‘I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud.’ Clearly, these daffodils hold a special place in many a Englishman as well.

The fragrance opens in a strong burst of juniper, spearmint against blackcurrant and clementine, leading to a soft embrace of daffodil absolute, hyacinth, hawthorn and beeswax before settling and warming into a musky base of vanilla, styrax and amber.

Delicately adorned with the illustrations of Melissa Bailey, Ostara is quite the jubilant olfactory journey, that will always keep you in high spirits and floating above a field of daffodils. Thinking about a spring vacation yet?

Ostara (SGD290 for 100ml and SGD205 for 50ml) will be available in Penhaligon’s stores in March 2015.
