At Your Service: Bellboys model handbags for Hill & Friends at LFW

updated the 3 May 2019 à 16:03

Still considering if letting your boyfriend hold your purse will be frowned upon? These models dressed as bellboys at London Fashion Week show you how it’s done.

Hill & Friends

New English accessories label Hill & Friends had a resounding reception at London Fashion Week on Sunday. The label, started by ex-Mulberry creative heads Emma Hill and Georgia Fendley, aims to pride itself in sustainable, socially-responsible products that are English-made. Its first collection sees kitschy bags in varying sizes to suit different tastes, handmade by local artisans with exceptional skills passed down from generation to generation.

At its intimate London presentation this week, the design duo invited guests to the luxurious Claridge’s Hotel for a breakfast of delectable handbags and a cameo appearance from a pair of ponies. Models dressed as bellboys went down the runway in branded uniforms carrying the brand’s new collection in various fashions, as if truly to bring a guest’s bags up to their rooms. We can’t help but be reminded of the highly-debated ‘purse-holding boyfriend’ pandemic – if our significant others looked this good carrying our handbags, could we really say we mind?

Hill & Friends will be available via a ‘see now buy now’ straight-off-the-runway capsule available on hillandfriends.com and Net-A-Porter. Scroll through the looks above and take your pick – ponies not included.
