Fancy designing your own iconic Burberry scarf? Well, now you can.

Just in time for the end-of-year trips to wintery countries, Burberry launches The Scarf Bar, in celebration of the fashion house’s iconic Scottish-made cashmere scarves. The new collection launches this week with a new range of colours and prints (we’ve even spotted a cutesy heart print we’re already obsessed with!) and several threads for personalised monogramming – complete with a finished tag bearing your initials.

After the monogrammed cashmere ponchos were seen on everyone from Olivia Palermo to local fashion star Yoyo Cao, there’s no doubt that creating one’s own customised Burberry scarf will be a new trend in streetstyle. With the iconic heritage shades – Camel, Stone, Charcoal, Navy and Parade Red – there are now over 30 scarf and thread colours to choose from and customers can opt for up to three letters on their scarf, in a choice of two font sizes.

THE BURBERRY SCARF BAR FILM

The painstaking effort that goes behind the production of these classic pieces is celebrated with a short film, shot at the Scottish mills in the towns of Elgin and Ayr – each with a rich history of producing cashmere scarves – where they’re made. The expert craftsmanship behind each scarf, from the raw cashmere to the manual quality control to finished design, has been shot for the world to experience the process, and proves the luxuriousness that goes with its name. In the film we see how only the finest materials are used, using traditional looms with the most skilled hands.

View the bespoke manufacturing process in our gallery above and watch the cinematic short film below. Also scroll through the slideshow as we revisit the iconic scarves on our favourite celebs and models, from Naomi Campbell to the adorable Romeo Beckham.

Now who wants a scarf wrapped snugly around their necks?
