As its name suggests, this place is inspired by Scandinavia, with its predominantly black-and-white theme that is complemented by the bright and spacious location. Chill amongst the wooden tables, or rest at the bench, all while sipping your freshly-made flat white — perfect for that Instagram shot.

Right in the middle of a brilliant coworking space lies Bean Reserve: a spot that’s almost made for the cafe-hopping crowd. And, with the fine combination of exposed concrete detailing, white accents, and light wood furniture, it is understandable why this place has been a hit. Go for their homemade cereal milk soft-serve ice cream or just come to chill out and wow at the architecture of the place — either way, we won't judge!

If you love Artisan Roastery, be prepared to love Someplace Beautiful too. While the former is a coffee roastery, Someplace Beautiful takes the beauty of tea and their experience with Artisan Roastery and combines it into a magical destination. With particle board detailing that melds seamlessly with the black-and-white combination of the tiles, this cafe is one of the few that offers a delicious tea and soft-serve experience that is set in a backdrop of beauty.

Wild Sheep Chase Cafe
Undeniably one of the more popular spots when it comes to minimalist decor cafes, Wild Sheep Chase serves up a feast of mouthwatering desserts that will leave you wanting to order more. Unwind with a beverage of choice while surrounded by the simple decor of this pretty shop -- we love the natural light from the wide windows and the unadorned whitewashed walls. Soufflé is their speciality, with an airiness and sweetness balanced with either a honeydew-calamansi or grapefruit sorbet. Delicious!

Inspired by the daughter's time spent in Japan, this mother-daughter run cafe brings together the beauty of Japanese food right here in Kuala Lumpur. With picks like hamburg steak and bento sets, complemented with ice ball desserts and dango, it is hard to be disappointed here. AKa Cafe embraces the best part of Japanese cafe culture, evolves it, and brings it right back home, making this a lunch spot one that should not be missed.

Kotakotak Cafe has an endearing name that makes it an absolute hit with its patrons. Serving appetising food and drinks in a beautifully-designed location — what more could you ask for in a cafe? True, this isn’t exactly in Kuala Lumpur proper, but this place is just too good to ignore. Side note: this cafe does not open on weekends, so go during the weekdays to ensure you won't be disappointed!

The best thing about Littlepeople is how easy it is to feel right at hom here. Their specialities lie in their hand-brewed coffee that is sure to tug at your heartstrings if you're a true coffee lover, but opt for the tea if you prefer something different. Or, if you’re up for a little bit more than drinks, the cakes and homemade pastas are guaranteed to delight as well. For a nice environment and ambience that truly makes you feel welcome, you can’t go wrong with Littlepeople.

Flavourful food in a charming shop space, and you’re helping a good cause? Score!

PULP is Papa Palheta’s flagship store in Malaysia, complete with a cupping room and workshop space that adds a little extra spice to the cafe. Started up by the same people who worked on Chye Seng Huat Hardware Coffee Bar in Singapore, it is clear they have the experience and drive to make this a place an essential stop for all coffee lovers. Drop by for an infallible cup-of-joe, or fill up with pasta and quesadilla.
