One face brush is all you need when travelling or touching up on the go - here are some tips on how to use the multitasking product and look flawless.
Retractable powder brushes might be the makeup tool you skip when shopping for products at your favourite beauty supply store, possibly because it's seen as old-fashioned. These days, makeup enthusiasts are always reaching out for more professional-looking makeup brush sets with the idea that they'll provide a flawless application. But do people really bring around those large brush holders when travelling or for on-the-go touch ups? We didn't think so.
That's where retractable brushes come in. They may look pretty simple and are easy to use, but they also pack a punch with functionality. The retractable part may even be a little nostalgic to you... and that's the exact feature that will help you use this tool in 3 different ways.
FOUNDATION & POWDER
Whether applying liquid or powder foundation, your favourite finish can be achieved with this tool. For a more natural air-brushed look, use the full length of the brush to lightly buff on product and simultaneously blend out harsh edges. A full coverage application can benefit from a shorter bristle length. Simply pull up the top piece of the brush handle and adjust accordingly. To set powder, use the full length of the brush.
CONTOUR & HIGHLIGHT
Adjust the brush handle to a shorter bristle length and pick up some contouring powder. Direct the brush along the hollows of your cheeks, jawline, outer edges of the forehead and sides of the nose to shade and blend well. With the same technique you can apply highlighter to the tops of the cheeks, nose bridge and cupid's bow.
BLUSH
Once you're done shading and adding light, give yourself a post-workout flush with your favourite cheek colour. Drop the adjustable brush handle down halfway of the brush length and sweep the product on in circular motions, and you're done!
One brush, 3 ways. We're sure there's more you can do with this multitasking makeup tool, so give it a go with our top picks in the gallery and let us know how else you've used it!
