Fashion Fanatic: David Bowie's 30 most iconic looks remembered

Here are all the different looks that have made and defined the distinctive Bowie style.
DAVID BOWIE, AN ECLECTIC STYLE
David Bowie - the fashion chameleon - lived a new life for every mythical style he gave birth to, making a mark in the fashion industry forever.
With every character he embodied, a new trend was born - the garments he wore was like role play for Bowie.
Many designers have also dedicated their entire collections or are openly inspired by him: including Gareth Pugh, Jean Paul Gaultier and Gucci, who devoted three seasons.
Conversely, many of his stage costumes and life have been made by big names in fashion: Kansai Yamamoto for his Stardust tour / Aladdin Sane in 1972-1973 in the period when he took on all the sauces of kabuki-inspired costumes. Alexander McQueen, Hedi Slimane in 2002 or Thierry Mugler are all names that have participated in crafting the 'Bowie style'.
Yet he alone decided how he would dress - whether it was flamboyant or spiffy.
BOWIE IN THE FOREFRONT
He certainly influenced the punk movement, was the precursor of androgyny and will be at the forefront of many stylistic movements.
In the 60s, David Jones was the Mod look: thin tie, Italian shoes and bent costumes. It represented elegance and British youth before David Bowie came to be, whose pop looks became more embellished.
In 1971, David had red hair as he was inspired by the film, A Clockwork Orange. That gave rise to a eclectic glam-rock look. Ziggy Stardust born.
So now after 69 years, even though the man himself is gone, one thing comforts us: the Bowie style is indeed immortal.
