Diamond Dinner: Is this the most expensive meal in the world ever?

Do you have S$2.7 million up your sleeves? That’s the price tag on this ridiculous (and extravagant) meal.

`

Surely there isn’t a soul in the world willing to fork out such an extravagant amount of cash for a gourmet experience, but perhaps with the right incentives, one with a healthy bank account might consider it. And with Russian Diamond Group World Of Diamonds and CÉ LA VI Singapore collaborating to bring you the ultimate degustation, perhaps a US$2 million (S$2.7 million) meal might not sound so ridiculous after all. So, what exactly does this decadent 8-hour long dining experience get you?

For starters, you get to enjoy a 45-minute helicopter ride over the island of Singapore, followed by a ride in a Rolls Royce to the bay, where you will be taken on private sea excursion aboard a luxury cruise. This sky, land and sea journey culminates in an 18-course modern-Asian degustation married with some of the world’s rarest 44- and 55-year-old vintage wines, at CÉ LA VI Singapore atop Marina Bay Sands Hotel.

From a live band to 10,000 fresh roses, diamond-studded eating utensils (engraved with your names) to an insanely gastronomical menu, there is probably nothing that could possibly make this meal any better – except for maybe a 2.08-carat diamond ring valued at S$2.7 million to cap it all off. Yes, we’re quite convinced that this 2.08-carat diamond Fancy Vivid Blue diamond ring, set in 18-karat rose gold-plated platinum, presented while a fireworks display goes off over the bay, will surely end off your meal on a high note.

The ring, which also features stunning floral motifs, was once worn by award-winning British-American actress Jane Seymour during her visit to Singapore in April this year. In fact, the ring was inspired by Seymour (who only ever wore it, but never owned it), and has been christened “The Jane Seymour”. Talk about the perfect celebrity ring to rule them all!
