Chanel unveils its film "The Return" as well as its new muse, Kristen Stewart
mis à jour le 24 June 2015 à 10:44Tuesday, Dec. 10, Fair Park, Dallas: The 'Métiers d’Art' show was an opportunity to uncover'The Return' and the next face of Chanel's upcoming Paris-Dallas campaign.
Finally! After a promising teaser, Karl Lagerfeld presented his latest short film The Return telling the story of the revival of the House of Chanel. Geraldine Chaplin plays a larger than life Coco Chanel as she embarks on a revival for her fashion house. A gamble after 15 years of absence: the reception of her first collection is cold but it will take more to deter the 'Mademoiselle', and eventually her successful return helps to create the 'myth of Chanel' which we are all now familiar with. We were delighted to see Géraldine play a bitter yet sensitive Gabrielle, who speaks about love, loneliness, jeans and style.
Presented last Tuesday (December 10) at the opening of Chanel Metiers d'Art pre-fall 2014 fashion show at Fair Park in Dallas, the film highlights the strong relationship between Gabrielle Chanel and the United States. The collection reminds us of Coco's trip to Dallas in 1957, where she received the Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion, the "Oscar de la Mode."
The love story between Chanel and the USA continues, as American actress Kristen Stewart has just been revealed to be the face of the Paris-Dallas 2013/14 campaign, which will be shot by Karl Lagerfeld. The campaign images will be released next May so watch this space for more on that soon.
