Louis Vuitton: Marc Jacobs final campaign

Louis Vuitton unveils the photographs of its latest advertising campaign featuring the creator’s muses: Catherine Deneuve, Sofia Coppola, Gisele Bündchen...
After sixteen years as artistic director of Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs bowed out last October. His last show took the retrospective form of his rich career with the illustrious house. If Nicolas Ghesquière is soon going to bring his universe to the Vuitton codes, it is Marc Jacobs himself who is busy with last season.
Since the last collection paid homage to the women it was inspired by, the Spring/Summer 2014 advertising campaign is entirely dedicated to its creative muses. Steven Meisel has made sumptuous portraits, starring Catherine Deneuve, Sofia Coppola, Gisele Bundchen, Fan Bingbing, Caroline de Maigret and Edie Campbell, the model chosen by Marc Jacobs to open his last parade. The poses are simple, the décor sober, and everything is enhanced in the absolutely perfect lighting.
During the Louis Vuitton fashion show, it was the same one bag that appeared in a myriad of variations: the NN14, the iconic Noah bag, the ingenious creation designed by Gaston-Louis Vuitton in 1932 at the request of a champagne producer looking for a stylish way to carry five bottles of that precious nectar. For Spring/Summer 2014, it is smaller and its lines, cleaner. The Home of leather goods shows off its expertise, straying away from the original designs in favour of feathers, crystals, sequins, studs, alligator appliqué... Absolutely exquisite!
