Japanese skincare brand Skin Inc is known for using premium exclusive ingredients like deep sea water in its products. We try out its award-winning peel and mask and give our verdict!

Apart from our daily moisturiser, we believe that the secret to having great skin lies in cleaning and exfoliating it on a regular basis. Indulging in a luxurious mask a couple of times a week won’t hurt either.

While using a heavy-duty scrub once a week is great for those who can handle it, those with sensitive skin need an equally efficient yet gentler solution to get rid of dead skin and impurities without irritating it.

Skin Inc Pure Revival Peel was created for that purpose. Marketed as an extremely gentle multi-action peel, it works in just a few minutes to remove dead skin with no need for scrubbing or tugging. With active ingredients such as AC-11, Arbutin and Fullerine, it is also said to have anti-ageing properties and aids in brightening and the DNA-repair of the skin.

To further enhance the condition of our skin, Skin Inc recommends following their 3 step routine which includes peeling, hydrating and finishing off with its Pure Deapsea Hydrating Mask which promises to nourish and hydrate the skin even more.

We put both products to the test and here is our verdict:

Skin Inc Pure Revival Peel

As a self-confessed scrub and peel obsessed beauty addict, I’m always on the lookout for products which can exfoliate my skin effectively so it would better absorb skincare benefits. Normally I’m a big fan of heavy-duty scrubs but I gave this gentle peel a try to compare the results. To my delight, this light, colourless and odourless liquid performed extremely well. Applying it, as advised, on dry skin – and after gently massaging it in in a few seconds once it turned milky – I started seeing the white old keratin particles (which signify dead skin and impurities) surfacing. A couple of minutes of massaging was enough to clear my skin and once I rinsed it off with warm water, my skin felt instantly softer and looked brighter and clearer.

I was very pleasantly surprised that despite its seemingly ‘lightness’ it has done a great job in removing dead skin and making my skin feel brand new without any tugging or redness. I loved how smooth and ‘detoxed’ my skin felt afterwards. Normally I would use a scrub once or twice a week but as this is an extremely gently peel, it is safe to use it 3 times a week and I wouldn’t say no.

Pure Deapsea Hydrating Mask

One of the exclusive ingredients which Skin Inc products boast is Okinawa Deepsea Water sourced from Southern Japan which is said to be extremely pure and full of nutrients (especially Zinc and Magnesium). This mask-gel is formulated with this special ingredient plus a few other like Soya Bean and Hyaluronic Acid.

Every girl loves her indulgent masks and I am no different! Firstly, the fact that this mask is gel-based makes it comfortable to use and actually pleasant to keep on overnight if you choose to. Applying it after cleansing and exfoliating, the mask has an instant soothing effect and when rinsed off after 30 minutes, my skin felt plumper, smoother and looked visibly brighter. The great thing? Just like the peel, this products is transparent, has no scent and can be used on daily basis or left overnight. A winner for me!

Pure Revival Peel (approx. USD85 for 100ml) and Pure Deapsea Hydrating Mask (approx. USD156 for 100ml) are available at Skin Inc outlets and online at www.iloveskininc.com.
