How would you like to achieve radiant, hydrated skin and soft lips all with a good night’s sleep? Well, add this Laneige duo to your night time routine and you’ll be all set.

They call it beauty sleep for a reason but sometimes even after having a good night’s rest – by that we mean 8 hours at least – our skin looks far from rested. So if sleep is doing little to improve skin condition, perhaps a little help from specific skincare products, coupled with sleep, would do just the trick

Laneige’s former Water Sleeping Pack was one key product that graced the vanity tables of women, promising to deliver intensive hydration for their skin overnight.  Now, renamed Water Sleeping Mask, the re-formulated mask is far more potent and effective in moisturising the skin with active ingredients. Together with that, Laneige launched the Lip Sleeping Mask that serves to give you smooth, plump lips.

Formulated with three patented technologies, the mask seeks to deeply hydrate, sooth and purify your skin as you head to bed for the night. Sleeptox is a purification technology that contains two key ingredients – Hunza Apricot extract for its antioxidant properties and Evening Primrose Root extract – that aims to repair the damages caused by externalities and restore the skin by limiting the degeneration of skin cells.

In addition, the lightweight sleeping mask is entirely sleep-inducing as well with its combination of natural fragrances such as orange flower, rose, ylang ylang and sandalwood oil. The scents work to relax your mind and lull you into dream land – a good quality and undisturbed one that is.

Now for those of you who constantly suffer from dry and chapped lips – no thanks to staying in air-conditioned rooms and braving the scorching sun – Laneige has another miracle worker up for grabs. The Lip Sleeping Mask contains a vitamin C-rich Berry Mix Complex that boasts of a potent antioxidant strength to repair and moisturise flaky lips.

Simply apply a thick layer on the lips using the provided spatula and leave it on overnight. The next morning, wipe off the excess with a tissue and watch as your lips appear brilliantly hydrated.

Our Verdict:

Personally, I was already a fan of the Water Sleeping Pack because if anything I knew that with the tub in tow, I wouldn’t have to worry about looking like a mess the morning after a late night. So with that, it was only natural that I placed high expectations on the newly renamed and re-formulated Water Sleeping Mask and in all honestly, disappointment it did not deliver.

After applying it for every alternative night since bagging it, I’ve noticed that every morning I wake up to radiant, supple skin that needs no other layer of skincare or makeup. Not only does the product absorb rather readily – faster than the previous one – the light scent was definitely sleep-inducing – no need for candles here. If you’re not a fan of fragrance in beauty products then you might want to skip this.

What I was particularly excited to try though was the Lip Sleeping Mask because I for one love my lip balms and hate my often dry lips. Slathering on a thick layer, I went to bed. The next morning, after wiping off the excess, my lips felt sufficiently well-moisturised and far from dehydrated or dry. Now, I’m going to religiously apply it every night – kissable lips are important after all.

Psssst. You might be tempted to lick off the gel-like formula on your lips because it smells and tastes yummy from all the infused berries but resist and your lips will thank you for it.

The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask (SGD42) and Lip Sleeping Mask (SGD27) will be available from 7 May onwards at all Laneige counters and boutiques.
