See whether Korea’s leading cosmeceutical skincare by CNP is as good as seen on the skin of K-Pop stars gracing the TV screens.

Award-winning Korean brand, CNP Laboratory, has recently unveiled their cosmeceutical (cosmetics + pharmaceutical) skincare in Singapore. Famous amongst the Korean A-listers, the skincare is believed to be the best kept secrets behind their porcelain skin .

The next best thing about CNP is they test their products rigorously before launching them, guaranteeing a skincare extra safe for all skin types. You might want to know that CNP cosmeceuticals is the brainchild of 50 experienced dermatologists. It’s a treatment tailored for your skin by experts minus the price tag and waiting time.

But with all these claims to fame, we test some of  their products to see if they are too good to be true.

Cleansing Perfecta (SGD 34)

Unnoticed and uncleaned residue of makeup can clog pores and cause skin issues, which of course aren’t welcome on our skin. Cleansing Perfecta, a hypoallergenic oil-free deep cleanser, promises to solve this by thoroughly washing off waterproof makeup while hydrating the skin. The mild texture of the cleanser is soft against the skin. It’s scentless, easy to remove and does not foam.

As someone who wears concealers and foundation generously, I have lost faith in cleansers that claim to lift off makeup. I tried CNP’s Cleansing Perfecta and to my surprise, after a few times of gentle rubbing on the face in circular motion, the solution in my hand came out with a beige tinge. After rinsing my face with water, I dabbed a makeup-remover-infused cotton pad on my face and there was no trace of makeup. However, I’m still waiting for a cleanser that can remove waterproof eye liner and mascara.

Propolis Energy Ampule (SGD 40.90)

This concentrated ampule is rich with Propolis extract, that is famous for its antioxidant and moisturizing benefits. The formula also contains Hyaluronic Acid that helps the skin maintain its youthful glow. For dry skins, apply a small amount over makeup.

I like its thick texture, a good change from the lightweight serum. Certain dry areas around my cheekbones stopped flaking thanks to the ampule.

Active Freshner Toner (SGD 42.90)

CNP’s toner is mild and alcohol-free, it controls facial oil and maintains moisture balance. It provides the skin with the necessary hydration and helps it combat acne.

I am most reluctant to add another step to my skincare ritual. I find it difficult to see what toners can do. But compared to the previous toners with which I maintained relatively short relationships, CNP’s is by far the most gentle on my dry, sensitive skin. I don’t feel the usual twinge that entailed my previous toner application.

Anti-Pore Black head Clear Kit (SGD 14.10)

The baby of the family is CNP’s best seller, Anti-Pore Black head Clear Kit. It’s a two-step process that gets rid of black heads and help unseen sebum surface for easy removal. The second step seals the unclogged pores to prevent dirt from entering. Place the mask on black head prone area for 10-15 minutes. Remove mask, remove black heads with a cotton bud and continue with placing the pore-tightening mask.

The product is justly the star product because it works like a charm — as seen on their illustrations. After just one use of this kit, my skin is noticeably cleaner.

Our verdict

CNP brings a straightforward line of products that perform as well as the descriptions, from its moisturizing ampules to its heavy-duty black head kit. The products helped clear my skin from certain issues like acne and dryness, although understandably blemishes are more stubborn. After about a month of using these four products, I did notice my skin becoming cleaner, softer and more bouncy. I’d recommend CNP’s cosmeceutical to all skin types, but particularly those with sensitive or dry complexion. The skincare is perfect for the ladies who are looking to skip a step or two in their lengthy skin regime.
