Singapore is set to be the next stop for Chanel's travelling photo exhibition, starting this November.

To call yourself a die-hard Chanel fan then you must own or aspire to own either the classic quilted lambskin flap bag or the iconic tweed jacket. Knowing that, Karl Lagerfeld and stylist, Carine Roitfeld sought to celebrate the ubiquitous influence of the black tweed jacket in the form of a book titled, ‘The Little Black Jacket: CHANEL’s classic revisited'.

The book features a stunning collection of 100 black and white images shot by the Kaiser himself. As he geared his lens toward Chanel’s muses across history, the images effectively capture the versatility and timelessness of the tweed jacket. The allure of the exhibition lies not only in witnessing the quintessential jacket but also in the manner in which each muse has adapted the jacket to suit his or her unique style. Yes, even men are wearing the originally woman-only jacket!

Moving forward from the book, we now have a travelling photo exhibition of The Little Black Jacket and it has already made its rounds across various major cities including London, New York, Paris, Milan, Beijing and Tokyo. Alas, it arrives on our shores, all ready to quell the tingling excitement of Chanel aficionados.

Remember to look out for photographs of the industry’s biggest names at the exhibition, from Alexa Chung to Vanessa Paradis and even Vogue US editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour. For now we’re ardently waiting to spot Carine Roitfeld dressed to impersonate Coco Chanel laden in pearls and topped with a hat.

Chanel's The Little Black Jacket exhibition opens on November 9th 2013 and runs till January 1st 2014 (10am-7pm Daily) at the Singapore Art Science Museum. Admission is free.
