The pore minimiser balm from Benefit gets our seal of approval.

We are told that pores exist to allow our skin to breathe and regulate our body’s temperature, but this does not disguise the fact that we still don’t like their appearance on our faces.

Enlarged and hard to cover without professional help, we thought we had no option until we tried Benefit POREfessional which seemed to do the trick!

This balm from the San Francisco-based cosmetics brand is flesh-coloured, oil-free and extremely lightweight which allows it to spread seamlessly on our skin – minimizing the appearance of pores and leaving the skin matte and even.

I applied it before makeup and it was easy to work with. A few dabs over the nose area – where my pores are concentrated – and I was pretty much done! Foundation and BB creams tend to have thicker formulas which don’t sink in the pores and as a result the final look can be uneven. But with using POREfessional as a base, the final look was flawless!

Even better, the same tube suits all skin tones, has a matte finish and contains Vitamin E – all while doing what it says on the tin!

Benefit POREfessional balm, (22ml), approx. USD37.8, available at Sephora stores.
