Heels of Flats?

updated the 17 August 2015 à 14:23

Question from Sylvie, 39, Toulon, France: “Are heels always HOT?

Marie France answers:

Not necessarily. Everything is a question of balance; you have to be comfortable walking in them after all! And it is important that your legs are noticed, not the height of your heels.

First, make sure you choose the right style and do not skimp on quality. ‘Cheap’ heels are a no-no.

The curvature is very important as well: if your foot plunges forward, forget it!

Also don’t buy pumps which are too big for when your heel slips out the shoe, it’s not glamorous at all.

The ideal height? 5 cm for day and 7cm for night.

Second, think about proportions. A very short skirt with extremely high heels screams vulgar – unless your name is Kate Moss!

Sexy flat sandals, ballerina and brogues can be very feminine as well. If your toes are on show, make sure you had a pedicure and painted them nicely.
