Get the K-look: The jumbo It bag is back!
updated the 7 October 2015 à 00:03Black, taupe or even fuchsia – jumbo bags are the It arm candy this season.
Seen on Korean celebs from Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany to K-pop star T-ara and actress Ha-neul Kim – these XL totes are proving to be a big hit; and as they saying goes the bigger, the better – at least when it comes to bags. But, while their designer versions might have come with a hefty price tag – we show you how to get the look for less from Qoo10 Singapore. Lady-like and roomy at the same time – these will be your to-go-to bags from work to play.
A few tips to keep in mind which choosing your bag:
Size: While ‘jumbo’ suggests you go for the biggest bag you can find, sometimes a too-big holdall might not work proportionally especially if you are on the petite side. A bag should not over-shadow your frame and cover half of your body unless of course you’repacking for a weekend away. If you like the trend, a safe option is to go for a bag with a top handle so you have the option to carry it on the elbow instead of the shoulders to avoid drowning your figure.
Style: Keep in mind that the more structured the bag, the dressier it is. A slouchy bag like a ‘hobo’ is best worn with casual attire like skinny jeans or maxi summer dress, while geometric bags go best with work attire like a pencil skirt or an elegant LBD.
Colour: While black, taupe and camel are the most versatile, bright coloured bags can lift a monochrome ensemble and add that extra oomph to the mundane everyday outfit so don’t be afraid to experiment with bold shades like orange, blue or red!
