We tried, tested, and fell in love with this Australian organic skincare label. Here’s why.

When a new skincare brand comes to town, we do tend go a bit overboard.

But this time, it is worth the hype – because La Clinica For Skin and Body is the best new brand we’ve tried in a while. With more than 80% of their products certified as organic, this Australian family-owned and operated brand is not just about pleasant smells and textures; it delivers what it promises with a holistic problem-solving approach to skincare.

How can we be so sure? Well, we took our time trying various products from La Clinica and were more than pleased with the results. And just to show it is not just for fun, we’ve done the hard work (yeah right) and hand-picked those products which should make it onto your beauty hit list.

1-GlyC-Refine-MicroDermabrasion-FacialScrub-100mL
Gly C Refine Micro-Dermabrasion Facial Exfoliating Scrub (approx. USD39)

If you suffer from dry, scaly or dull skin then you probably know that using scrub on a regular basis is essential to bring life back to it. But this is not just any scrub; Hands down – this is the best scrub we have got our hands (or face) on so far!

Personally, I am a big fan of scrubs and have been using them in hope to achieve a brighter and more radiant skin by peeling away those nasty dead skin cells and fine lines. But what is special about this particular scrub is its fast action due to the highly effective and naturally-derived Glycolic Acid and in addition to a healthy dose of Vitamin C.

Even after the first use, I could feel my skin was much smoother and brighter. A great start, and now just three weeks in (used once a week) I don’t think I can give it up! Beware though, this stuff is intense so avoid it if you have sensitive skin and use it very gently because the scrubbing particles are coarse yet undetectable – leaving you with the same sensation of the micro-dermabrasion facial machines which use diamonds or crystals to gently peel your skin.

This miracle in shape of scrub is a must-have if you’re looking for instant results and suffer from dull skin.

White Brilliant Intensive Correction Serum Stage 1 – 50ml (approx. USD90.6)

I’m not a fan of any whitening products whatsoever – especially after reading about the harsh components most of the over-the-counter brands include to bleach the skin. But this product is something else. The latest White Brilliant range of La Clinica presents itself as an alternative to whitening products which instead of bleaching the skin, acts on reducing pigmentation by using tyrosinase-inhibitors to block their formation, meaning a brighter and more even skin tone.

The colour and smell of this serum was not appealing to start with but after getting over that first impression, I was very pleased with the result. I applied it every day and night for 3 weeks and my skin now looks more plump, brighter as if glowing from within. I ended up ditching my BB cream in the weekends as I felt confident enough to show my face without a scrap of make up on those super humid days. An accomplishment if you ask me!

Rebalancing Vitamin A range for combination skin

This range from La Clinica is a life-saver for those with combination skin. 100% certified-organic and using active natural ingredients extracts like green tea, Alp Rose stem cell, lotus flower liposome complex in addition to Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38 – these products help re-balance, repair, renew and protect the skin.

From the cleanser to the mask and day cream, this was the most pleasant range of products to use especially with its herbal soothing scent.

The facial  cleanser (200ml – approx. USD 38) was a joy to apply in the morning to refresh my face before my skincare and make up routine. Even after a long day at work, it did not dry out my skin like most cleansers do.

The marine algae gel facial mask (100ml – approx. USD38) was soothing and fast-absorbing and left my skin smooth and looking rested.

The day cream (50ml – approx. USD33.5) was the most impressive – it sunk in after just one minute of application and left my face feeling and looking more plump and balanced with a matte texture even on the T-Zone. No breakouts occurred which was the biggest indication of its effectiveness. The only complaint I had is that it did not contain any SPF but I was told the sunblock factor would affect the active ingredients in the product. My advice would be to add a light textured sunblock after the cream sinks in or use a foundation with SPF factor. I have been doing that and for the result I’m getting, I really don’t mind that extra step in my routine.

La Clinica products are available online with worldwide delivery.

The brand is also available in Singapore at Robinsons in Jem mall, Jurong East.
