We all relish in a little entertainment and that’s exactly what the sharp-tongued, Simon Cowell’s  ‘Got Talent’ format is based upon. By creating a stage for people all around the world to showcase their talents – as bizarre, jaw-dropping or mind-blowing they may be – this talent show is not to be missed. Come March, our side of the world gets to uncover talent from the largest continent that also happens to be the most populous. Asia’s Got Talent will essentially be the biggest ever franchise, spanning across 20 countries, creating a grand celebration of what we have to offer.

Equally talented is the starry panel consisting of 16-time Grammy Award-winning musician, David Foster, UK pop sensation and former Sporty Spice, Melanie C, Indonesian rock icon Anggun and Taiwanese-American singer and actor, Van Ness Wu.

Now as to which judge will play out which character, unsurprisingly, Foster will possibly be the meanest – he has even been dubbed the ‘dreamcrusher’ by fellow judges. “Because I am the oldest, I have the least patience,” added Foster at the preview of the show earlier this week.

Van Ness Wu on the other hand has been likened to be the sweetest one on the panel while Foster nicknamed Anggun and Melanie C as the ‘wicked witches of the East and West’.

Monkiers aside, the judges also boast of little secret talents. Foster is apparently a really good magician and does tricks as a hobby, Wu juggles, Anggun can oddly do impressions of a snail and Mel C can gargle the tunes to Spice Girls songs. Clearly, they’re one talented bunch who know how to impress beyond singing.

So if you want to catch the judges’ hilarious and sometimes tense antics throughout the show, be sure to tune in on AXN. The season will consist of a total of 10 weekly episodes, leading with five audition episodes and following with three semi-finals and a finale. And if you’re hankering for a little peek at the excitement then you’d be thrilled to know that the semi-finals and finale will be held at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands.

Is that a yes?

The inaugural Asia’s Got Talent will premiere on AXN on 12 March at 8.05pm.
