As the name suggests, the award winning author's latest novel follows the unlikely event of 3 airplane crashes that occured within a short span of time in Elizabeth, New Jersey. And as with any of Judy Blume's books, you can expect a bunch of intriguing characters who each cope with loss, celebrate the good times and trudge right on along for what the future may bring.

Facing a life crisis and cheating husband, Portia Kane returns to her largely unchanged hometown in South Jersey with the belief that good still exists. Hence, determined to help the only man - her now retired and alone high school English teacher - who ever believed in her, she's going to show him the highs of life.

Summer Secrets by Jane Green
Correcting one's wrongs that occured in the past is no easy feat but coupled with complications in the present, the task only grows increasingly difficult. Summer Secrets transverses across 20 years telling the story of Cat, a journalist who parties way too hard without any care, until she lands on a secret that'll send her life into a spiral.

The Sunlit Night By Rebecca Dinerstein
Following two individuals, Frances and Yasha, the novel is essentially a poetic symbol - showing that no matter how far one may be from homes and comfort, that ultimately the love you find in another reigns supreme and will give you a desirable and comforting home.

The Festival of Insignificance by Milan Kundera
As Milan Kundera's first novel in over a decade, it's safe to say that we're excited for this one.
In this one, he explores a range of issue while yet avoids to include an ounce of a serious note - as per his previous books - so you can definitely expect his uncanny humour and collation of ideas presented to you in all its glory.

The Knockoff by Lucy Skyes and Jo Piazza
Immerse yourself in a more lighthearted and entertaining story of Imogen Tate, Editor-in-Chief of Glossy magazine and former assistant Eve Morton. Eve is essentially masterminding a plan to take over Imogen and eradicate the thick September issue and present an elegant app instead.

The Life and Death of Sophie Stark by Anna North
The elegant and poignant talent follows the life of a cult filmmaker, Sophie Stark in the struggles an artistic person faces when balancing the desire for fame and artistic integrity. Her eventual rise to success is ultimately a brilliant depiction of how any art form is not all glamorous and fun.

Mislaid by Nell Zink
Freshman, Peggy gets involved with her professor and poet, Lee, leading to an unplanned pregnancy and eventually marriage. Plot twist? Peggy is a lesbian and Lee is gay. Mismatched from the beginning, the story unravels when Peggy runs away with her daughter leaving her son behind. Years later, the siblings meet and the confusion erupts.

The Unfortunate Importance of Beauty by Amanda Filipacchi
Two ladies who fall on the opposite ends of the supposed 'beauty spectrum' fear that they will never meet a partner who will love them for who they are on the inside or for their talents. Ultimately, the novel is a telling example of how women fall victim to beauty ideals set by society and eventually portrays how the ladies' talents are what saves the day - with a whole dose of charming wit and a murder mystery thrown into the mix.

We basically live online more than we do in reality so what would happen if you found out that what you write online will happen in reality? Following a break up with her beau, Kate tries to rewrite history but unfortunately finds out the hard way that even with Facebook, it might not be possible to change your fate.

As you pack for your next holiday on a pristine beach, don’t forget to throw in one of these brilliant books to accompany you under the umbrella!

We may just have came back from a long weekend break but we’re already planning our next summer retreat – complete with a good ‘ol book and the crashing waves as company. You guessed it, the beach is where we’re heading to next and isn’t it always the case, that snuggling under a beach umbrella, with a mojito by your side and a captivating read is all you need to escape from the drudgery of life? Indeed.
