Still Alice
Julianne Moore plays a mother of three and renowned linguistics professor who starts to lose her memory and words. Still Alice tells the story of a family who must deal with their mother's heartbreaking diagnosis. With outstanding performances from Moore, Alec Baldwin, Kate Bosworth and Kristen Stewart, you're going to need some tissues for this one, girls!

Unbroken
Another film to make it to 2015's most awaited movies. Directed and produced by Hollywood's one and only Angelina Jolie, Unbroken is based on a non-fiction book telling the chronicles of Louis Zamperini. The athlete who survived 47 days on a raft before being sent to a series of prison camps. With such a substantial storyline, we have high hopes for Jolie's directorial debut!

The Imitation Game
Benedict Cumberbatch plays as British mathematician and logician Alan Turing whose mission is to crack the Nazi Germany's Enigma code. Directed by Morten Tyldum, this historical drama has eight Academy Award nominations and five at the Golden Globes. But we think Benedict is enough reason to watch this it anyway.
Release date: January 22nd

Silence
Esteemed film director Martin Scorsese returns with a drama revolving around the story of two priests spreading Christianity in 17th century Japan. Silence is based on a 1966 novel by Shusako Endo. This time, the screen adaptation will not feature the usual Scorsese-DiCaprio collaboration but instead we will see other prominent actors like Liam Neeson and Ken Watanabe. Good choice we think!

Release date is estimated to be around November.

Ant-Man
Marvel is yet to disappoint when it comes to superhero movies. Together with mentor Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) will embrace his Ant-Man alterego to save the world. The hero is expected to impress with his ability to shrink in size and expand in power.
Release date: July 16th

American Sniper
Yet another war/biography cinema piece to score the list. But we don't mind, considering Hollywood beau Bradley Cooper is starring in the movie. Recently winning a Critics' Choice award for his perfomance as an American Sniper, Bradley plays a sniper deployed to Iraq following the 9/11 period. To top it all off, the movie is directed by veteran actor and director Clint Eastwood.

Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens
After what seemed to be the end of Star Wars on the big screen, the legendary sci-fiction series is resurrected by J.J. Abrams in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Hence, the title "awaken". The movie will also be the reunion of actor Harrison Ford with the intergalactic sequel.

Release date: December 17th

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2
The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins has culminated to this: Mockingjay Part II. The movie is an adaptation of the last book and will still star the trio J-Law, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. We are hungry for more of Katniss' adventures!

Reese Witherspoon plays Cheryl Strayed in Wild, an adaptation of the 2012 memoir Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail. The movie boasts a series of majestic nature scenes as Cheryl hikes the mountains solo. Reese has been nominated for the Best Actress in a Drama at the Golden Globes. We love a great movie with an empowering lead female role!

Birdman
Michael Keaton teams up with Edward Norton and Emma Stone in Birdman, a comedy drama telling the story of an actor past his career peak with a Broadway gig in order. Riggan Thomson (Keaton) must first deal with his ego and family problems. As Keaton is most likely to take the Oscar for Best Actor - and with Oscar-nominated brilliant supporting cast like Edward Norton and Mark Ruffalo - we seriously cannot wait for this one.

50 Shades of Grey
We are also ready to see you ASAP, Mr. Grey! After reading the erotic 50 Shades of Grey trilogy, we are finally seeing it on the big screen, and there is no better release date but the Valentine's weekend. Hopefully the chemistry between Christian Grey (played by Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) are just as good on screen.

We've read the books and we know the plot by heart, but watching Cinderella in the cinemas entails a different experience. Disney retells the classic fairytale with the sweet Lily James and Game of Thrones beau Richard Madden. Who wouldn't dream of such a Prince Charming?

As the Oscar nominations for 2015 have been announced last night, it fuels our love for cinema and we start compiling the list of movies which we can’t wait to watch this year.

If you have tuned in to the prestigious Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards, you know that there is an extensive list of highly anticipated movies yet to be released in 2015. This year will see quite a number of masterpieces based on real stories and biographies so it is really the non-fiction that we are looking forward to the most.

A novel adaptation by the esteemed film director Martin Scorsese, Silence, is set to impress, along with Angelina Jolie‘s directorial debut for Unbroken. The Hunger Games fans will see a bittersweet end to the trilogy while take pleasure in Benedict Cumberbatch’s performance in The Imitation Game.
