With the help of Tinder, Gillette went out to test their hypothesis that ladies prefer clean-shaven men than those with scruffy beards. Read on for their results.

Last year or so, men with beards started gaining momentum as more once clean-shaven gentleman decided to embrace the scruffy look. Coupled with the Movember trend where men kept their moustaches for the month of November, clearly brands like Gillette – revered for its shaving tools – weren’t too pleased. Hence, in a bid to prove a self-serving theory that women don’t prefer facial hair on their men, Gillette teamed up with popular dating app, Tinder to conduct a rather interactive research.

100,000 male college-age Tinder users were recruited by the brand to note the number of swipes or matches they got. After a week, the same guys swapped in some clean-shaven pictures of themselves to see which look was more popular – scruffy or well-groomed.

The results, posted on shavetest.com, showed that women prefer well-groomed men indeed as they received 74% of total right swipes and 9 in 10 women agreed that when the beard goes, the attractive meter spikes.

We don’t know how true the results are but check out the hilarious snippet below and tell us, what type gets your fancy?
