Do you want your own Instagram food studio?
updated the Thursday, September 25, 2014Have you ever thought of having a portable studio dedicated to your food shots that you love so much – you needed to put it on instagram? This device is here just for that.
MWEB, a South African Internet provider has decided to launch (just) such a studio, and they’ve called it MWEB #dinnercam.
The company teamed up with a Mexican restaurant in Cape Town, El Burro, to introduce #dinnercam, the first portable photo studio for restaurant meals. The device, connected to the restaurant’s WIFI, enables people to snap professional looking food shots, and, after they have chosen an appropriate light setting using a filter similar to the one used by Instagram, they can share them with friends on social networks.
Unfortunately (but luckily for foodie bloggers), MWEB has no plans to make this extraordinary device commercially available. Indeed, it’s just a tongue-in-cheek project set up by the company to start a debate on how WIFI connectivity and the Web are changing daily life in public spaces.
